Any website that list how often rail road tracks are used?

The title and topic basically sum up my question. I'm looking for houses and some that I like have railroad tracks fairly close by. Does any one know of any websites that have information on how often trains use certain tracks?

If you're looking at houses in person, ask the neighbors. 🙂

If not, well, I can't help you.

Umm... Then don't buy a house near the tracks? 😕

It would be pretty dumb to exclude a house because of train tracks if they're hardly ever or never used...

It looks like asking neighbors is the best bet. I just figured there might be a website with this sort of info but I guess not.

Just look at the tracks themselves. Look to see if it appears to have a joint every 20' or so or if it's a solid continuous mile long piece of rail. How many weeds are growing? If it's the 20' rail then it shouldn't be used nearly as much as the continuous stuff.

Also look at the tops of the track... shiny = frequent use.

I live about 3000 feet from a set of seldom used set of tracks. I don't even notice when they go by unless I am actively listening for it.

I love my neighborhood.
