Stupid lodgenet. I am in Cleveland for 3 weeks for training, and the tv in my room has a/v inputs. Sweet, I thought, I brought my ps2 to play, this won't be so bad!!!

WRONG! Neither the tv, nor the remote gives you any way to select the a/v in channel. All I get is lodgenet trying to rape me for $7.00/hr to play gamecube games. Lame.

Anyone know if a universal remote will work?? Or any other way to switch it??

Buy a TV from Wal-mart and return it when you're done (if you're the unethical sort) :p
Or maybe hit up a local thrift store and get a cheap junk TV that would still be cheaper than what they're asking.

Go to best buy and get the RF adaptor.

Nowadays they've usually got a sleeve on the back connector that requires a non-standard or cut socket to remove.

Hmmmmmmm..............guess I'll buy some pliers too. The tv's have the protective plastic shield on the coax. Although I would like to avoid having to rip it off the tv.

I tried putting a remote program on my pda. No go on the tv/video button, looks as if they have it disabled. Damn it.

why not ask the front desk if there's a way to hook up your PS2 to their tv?

^^ What he said. Normally, the easiest is the simplest solution...

They will have a full remote for the TV somewhere. They use remotes that only have some of the functions so guests won't change settings. Ask at the front desk.

I did ask first, no go. They sent the "engineer" up here and he told me that the tvs have a card in them that disable the av/inputs and that they couldn't enable them. Sounded like bs to me, but perhaps it is true.

When I tried with a universal remote (pda) the tv tries to tune to the av input, but then gets sent right back to the lodgenet screen. POS.

the same thing happened to us at a hotel. We had a coax adapter for the xbox so.. we bought a female to male converter at walmart (like a buck) so then we unplugged the cable that went into wall for the cable tv and hooked it up to the xbox and voila!

Some hotels run the CATV over the phone line and use an expansion card on the set which removes everything and provides only the RJ-11 jack. So then you're REALLY screwed. Alls YOU need is a coaxial adapter.
