Any way to stop screensaver from starting when computer is in standby on Win98SE?

I'm working on a Win98SE machine, and one of the problems that I'm supposed to try to fix is that sometimes the user will put the machine in standby. They have their screensaver set to start up after 14 minutes of inactivity, so 14 minutes after they put their machine in standby, the screensaver comes up and pulls the machine out of standby. I checked power options and the screensaver options, but didn't see anything anywhere about stopping the screensaver from loading when the machine is in standby. I also checked Google, but didn't see anything. Anyone know if there's a way to stop this from happening? Thanks.

Right click on Desktop, look at Properties, and you'll find screen saver options. You can substitute blank screen for the screen saver.
