Any way to send something anonymous?

I'm looking to buy and send my friend a book, however I don't want him to know its from me. I would just put his name and addy as the shipping address, but I'm afraid there will be an invoice inside that would give away who its from. Anyone know of a book site that can send books anonymously, or anything like that?

Why don't you just buy it, ship it to yourself, then repackage it and send it to him with no return address?

I would, except I'm thinking if he saw the city or state it was sent from he'd be able to guess who it was from. It'd be nice if UPS could send something without the tracking number on the box or my original addy on the box.

drive over and leave said package on his doorstep?

He lives in a different state at the moment.

Then ship it to somebody in a different state and pay them to send it via USPS.

I'd check to make sure your friend would be ok receiving an anonymous package first-- not trying to tow the "omg anthrax" line, but I might be a bit wary opening a package from someone I didn't know living in bumfuck, montana.

And include a ziplock bag with some hand soap in it and a note "To get you started".

Stop browsing the forums when you're supposed to be doing actual work.

Just don't put a return address on it, then attach an envelope of white powder to the box.

This works.
