Any way to see the last programs accessed/installed?

I'm slowly losing space on my OS SSD and I'm not sure why. I haven't downloaded anything to that drive nor have I installed anything recently so I'm hoping there's a way I can view the latest programs/files added to that drive.

Is this possible or is there a better way of finding out what's eating my space? Last month I was sitting on 25GB of free space, last week I was at 13.6GB and now I'm at 9.9GB.

I should have mentioned that I'm already using that but it doesn't show me what is being added most recently. I do have an Unknown block taking up 30.4GB under my C drive but I can't figure out what that actually is. It's a giant yellow block in the treemap.

Under WinDirStat, Users, <Files>, Program Files (x86), Program Files, Program Data, and Nvidia folders take up almost 38GB collectively which brings me to almost 100GB of used space right there.

Upon looking further into directories, it seems under Windows, my winsxs folder contains about 400 different folders named amd64_microsoft... or x86_system.data.randomnumberstrings. Since I don't have anything related to AMD in my system, I'm inclined to believe I don't need these folders but I'll do research on them before I delete anything.

Thanks for the link, but that program does exactly the same as WinDirStat but claims it's quicker. Given my system, WinDirStat takes less than two seconds to load, so I don't need to download something else just to wait one fewer second.

For now, it looks like I'll be going through each folder with a fine-tooth comb.

Well, I was at 17.2GB just from deleting things and after doing some minor browsing again, I'm already back to 16.9GB. I don't think fluctuation like this is normal.

I'll leave everything as is and check it again tomorrow to see if I'm not losing more space.

7 64-bit

Also, I've never reserved a copy of Windows 10. In fact, I've deleted that stupid windows update that has the GW10 file hidden inside so it's been blanked from my PC for a long time. I'll read the article and check it out just in case Microsoft did something stupid and tried to force it on me somehow.

The few things I make sure to clean up are the recycle bin and the administrative files your PC hides from you by default. I've cleaned up quite a few gigs this way before.

Sleeping / hibernating can also fluctuate your space.

EDIT:

Also do you have any automated backups?

To c the last programz installed, I usually go to my install/uninstall prog and check. The prog likely defaults to 'sort via name', but u can change that to 'recent install'.

I would think it may be thumbs cache, especially from visited pRon sites.

Suggestion;
run following progs in order listed;
ccenhancer
ccleaner
wise disk cleaner
jet clean
glary utilities
atf-cleaner
start menu/accessories/system toolz/disc cleanup

As an experienced pooter person, you will know which progs to run as admin and advanced clean-up, and the settings for each prog.
Clear out all those temp files, then continue ur fine tooth comb search.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I've just let some older stuff accumulate under my radar. There were a lot of 200-500ish MB files lying all over the place. Alcohol and Daemon had a few gigs each hiding inside, had some cut videos from FRAPS left over in my Pictures folder I skimmed over, thumbs cache and recycle bin both had about a gig each, temp folder had a few hundred MB, etc.

I guess it was all the little things I forgot about and it just added up. Although, I did take note of my space last night before I shut down my PC and it seems I went from 18.7GB last night to 19.2 today. I don't think it was my PC cleaning up any extra files as I did two restarts after the cleaning process and I did a second complete scan after the second restart, so I shouldn't have gained any space.

Also, a side-effect of cleaning so many files, it took my PC over 15 minutes to launch a game via Steam. I assume the cleaning process deleted some temporary files or moved some things around but I didn't expect it to have that kind of an impact on something from a different HDD. Once I got a game to load and it synced after closing (took almost 20 minutes to sync), everything went back to normal. The space is still fluctuating though. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it starts to plummet again.
