Any way to save the DLLs, registry settings, etc that a program uses when reinstalling Windows?

I have a bunch of hardware on the way which means I gotta reinstall Win98. I hate having to set up all my programs everytime I reinstall though, so I was hoping there might be some program that could save all the crap a program needs, stick it in another directory, so that I could just plop it into the new install of Windows. Kinda like a reverse uninstall program. Anyone happen to know of something like this? It'd prolly be way too conventient to actually exist..

I don't think that will work as mentioned due to the registry items tied into those dlls and hardware definitions that will be new.

What often works is to remove hardware in device manager, shut down, put drive in new motherboard, boot, and reinstall hardware.

I think a question like this would be nice to know if you have a pre-bought system and you want to keep things such as adobe or your cd writing program but would like to install a new OS or start from scratch.

Yep, there's that too. I don't even begin to know where my old CDR software disk is, I think my new drive comes with its own program but if not I'm kinda SOL.
