Any way to save scratched Wii (or other console) discs?

As the title says. Do any of those disc-reconditioner devices work? Any tips appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
Contact the publisher for a replacement disc, check the manual for more information. (not sure if it applies to the Wii)
 
Brasso brought a Rock Band disc back to life after it was gouged by the dvdrom in a falling xbox 360. Still has the huge mark all along the disc, but it works perfectly now.
