I heard that you can play 2 of your characters on 1 computer if you have 2 accounts. I was wondering if there was a way to play both on a single account/computer. I remember being able to do this is SWG. You had to change a setting or add a line in one of the config files.

No. Logging into an account if the account is already on will automatically disconnect the account that was logged on first.

He is trying to do it using two accounts. I have never tried this but I am assuming it would work. Don't expect anything more than shit performance though. One session of WoW alone is a major CPU hog.

I used to do this in lineage 2 in windowed mode and it really wasnt bad to tell the truth, should work but might be really slow for you.

It looks like he wants to do it with one account and two characters on at once using one PC.

Also, it is quite possible but it really taxes your RAM. It's also better to have a dual core CPU or better.

Here's an example of me doing it with my Warrior + Priest combo (two accounts, one PC):

EDIT: I also want to add that as much as Blizz said that they enabled multi-core use in WoW, I still see WoW only using 25% (aka "one"* out of my four cores).

*Note: Because of core switches, it might actually be changing cores but never actually uses more than one at a time.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd love to be able to get on my master enchanter and enchant my lower item peices on my other character since they are now soulbound.

How easy it is to power grind using a hunter/priest combo if you play by yourself using multi accounts and just run through the game? <gah i want my hunter lvl 70 but I already have 4 eve, 1 wow, 1 potbs and 1 cov accnt active>

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Hunter + Healer because pets are not that good at keeping aggro over heavy damage or healing. Not to mention, once you get Aspect of the Viper, you don't need to worry about mana as much as before. I have a 69 hunter (too lazy to get 70 right now... also ran out of (non-group) quests in Nagrand and I'm saving the rest for money) and I originally made two 70 premades on a PTR... Hunter and Druid. I spec'd the Hunter as BM and the Druid as Resto and tried to solo Levixus the Soulcaller. This didn't go well and there went my idea of playing a Druid and a Hunter together. As a hunter, you can just Feign when you gain aggro. The priest could fade but may just end up getting aggro again later. This of course also depends on what you're soloing. Normal mobs won't be hard as a simple renew from a holy priest could probably mitigate all damage. Elite mobs will be harder because of the aggro.

In my screenshot, I actually was using DPS gear with a sword and shield. My warrior just dwindles all the mobs down. A tank with better tanking gear that has more +strength will find that he can do this in tanking gear rather than having to use DPS gear. Also, I'm fairly sure now that my combo can do a lot more since my priest has more purpz than he did in that screenshot as well.

So in other words, a warrior + healer is a pretty nice combo. Paladin + healer could work out too I think. Unfortunately I can't really test that because my Paladin is on my healer account.

How would I bypass the disconnect I get when I try to log into my second character on one account? I read somewhere that if you install the same version of WoW on a different HD it will work, can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm that it is impossible. I don't feel like going into great detail as to why. If you do not believe me then you can choose to spend the time it takes to test your theory. Even if you do somehow find a way to pull this off, you will get caught eventually and your account will be permanently banned. Blizz is full of geeks too and they browse the internet searching for information explaining how to exploit their game just like you are doing now except they are better at it. No offense. I am telling you this for your own good.

When I read the EULA I didn't see any mention of it, so that's why I asked the question. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to do anything illegal. And if it is, then I won't be trying it.

You don't. It's the server (authentification not realm) that checks for multiple characters from the same account. Even if you tried it on two different computers on opposite sides of the world on two different realms as far appart geologicly as you could find, you can't connect with 2 characters from the same account. You can connect to two accounts from the same computer though if your computer can handle it.

You cannot play 2 characters on the same account at the same time period. I'm almost positive there isn't any sort of 'hack' you could even do client side to accomplish it. The WoW authentication servers handle account logins and there really isnt anything you can do to bypass it.

As far as boxing multiple accouonts it's no problem at all. I run 2GB RAM and an intel 3Ghz Quad with no hiccups running 2 WoW's. I can even run 3 WoW's without that much slowdown. This is all in window mode maximized btw.

I actually got my last character to lvl 60 in 3 days /played because I had access to a friends lvl 70 rogue. At about lvl 25 I just put it on auto-follow on the 70 rogue while he plowed through quest objectives for him. They boosted quest xp with that recent patch but left mob kill xp the same so I really wasnt missing out on that much xp for being grouped with a lvl 70 all the way.

I leveled a hunter to 60 in just over 3 days played on a pvp server without any outside help. The rogue eating away all your kill xp probably evened it out really.

I am pretty sure this is incorrect. I believe the record from 1-60 with no help was in 4 days, 20 hours played. See it here.

With one of the patches the exp grind and quests give way more exp. I have a level 50 quest that gave 7500exp for my priest. It is way easier now to level up. So 3 days played is doable.

There are policies regarding exploiting the game to do things which Blizz does not intend for you to do. If such things happen by accident then you can probably get away with it, but if you do anything purposefully then they can permaban you from the game completely. In the end, there is no law to protect you from Blizz in this regard. Blizz is god here. They own all of the data for your account regardless of whether or not you bought the game and are paying the sub. You will be completely at their mercy so I wouldn't chance it or anything that is an exploit for that matter.

Yeah... I was trying to do the casting while moving exploit yesterday on my mage to see if it works. I guess Blizzard patched it in 2.3.3?
