You can if the case has individual pins, versus a modular plug. I really don't know why some case manufacturers still do the individual pins, especially as the usb pin order has been set in stone for more than a few years now, but some do. Really dumb of them, imho.
Sorry to hear you lost a jump drive, OP. I lost my favorite Lexar 128mb drive that way, a while back. Stuck it in the slot, heard a little pop, looked down, and saw a small wisp of smoke. Fried that sucker, but good......and it showed NO sign of life since then. Best bet would be to contact the manufacturer, and see if they'd be willing to look at it. Sorry, can't be more helpful than that.
