Any way to remove the relationship btw Outlook and Windows Messenger?

So that Windows Messenger won't automatically start when I start Outlook, or so that I can close Windows Messenger even if Outlook is running...

Is there a way I can do this?

You can go into properties in Messenger and specify that it is not to run in the background.

Or you can uninstall it completely from the system, by typing in a command in the start-run. I can't remember the string to type, but try to do a search on these forums or visit some of the windows tweak sites.

Open Outlook.

Goto Tools - > Options

Click on the "Other" tab.

At the bottom there is an "Instant Messaging" section.

Uncheck "Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook"
