I have a CDRW that I cannot read using windows or IsoBuster, and it has some important data on it. I know the data is on there, but I'm not sure if the TOC is gone or what. Is there any way I could get this data back under these conditions?

HI,

I don't know if this will help you or not, but my HP drive came with a package called "CD Diagnose". It has a bunch of advance things like: "Recover Track" which tries to recover the last track on a CD if it was damaged. It will let you close sessions/tracks. Have a look at all sessions, etc. I'm not sure where you can get this, I seem to remember picking up an updated version from HP's web site at some point in the past.

Are you sure that the session was closed? Was it written with a Packet Writer? If so, are you using UDF software i.e. DirectCD or a UDF Reader?)

I have a very important backup cd which was sat on by a friend and has a crack about 2 inches starting from the centre. I tried to retieve the files with my Pioneer 6x DVD and I got all but 5 files read. I then tried my Yamaha 8424 CDRW and got 4 files copied... the last file was a large dat file which I got copied off an ASUS 50x CDROM on my daughters computer.
