Any way to output my computer signal via HDMI?

I'd like to display my computer on my TV, and I was wondering if there are cards you can buy that would output to a TV over an HDMI cable. Is that possible?

You can buy a video card with dvi outputs that adapt to a HDMI cable.
Or if your current video card has dvi outputs then you can try a dvi to hdmi cable.

You will have to transfer sound along a different cable

Yup. I have my Ubuntu box hooked up to my Pioneer plasma via DVI->HDMI. I have to say the picture quality is pretty awesome. The audio is output using the optical link to the receiver.

I can't believe it's that easy. Thanks for your help, I can't wait to hook this up!

LOL! OK, I deserved that. I just haven't had a TV close enough to my computer before to bother researching this, and didn't think it'd be this easy.

🙂 HTPC has been around for a long time now, back all the way to the CRT projector days.
