I have an Antec sx-835ii which has space for 5 x 80mm fans, I also have 5 92mm Silencer fans from PC Power & Cooling...just curious if there's any way to mount them in the case without doing major surgery.

Take off the plastic purple fan mounts and a 92mm shloud fit. At least for the HDD cages.

You may be able to fit 92 to 80mm fan adapters in there, but I am not sure if they would fit. If they did, they would not really make the best use of the 92mm fans because of restristion.

The best way would just be to drill new holes for the fans and make the holes for the airflow a little bigger while you are at it.

You certainly can do it, on both the front and back walls. You need to ditch the plastic fan holders and mount the fans directly to the case. There's a guy ("fieroboy" I think) at Ars who's done this and has a set of drill templates for locating the fans. It's really tight so you'd save yourself a lot of time if you used his templates. Give the search function at Ars a try, it was posted in the Case and Cooling forums last year or the year before. If the search doesn't work start a new thread about this, maybe somebody can point you in the right direction.
