Any way to look up Pay-Phone locations based on their #s?

Not according to AT&T. Tried it about 2 months ago with a couple of threatening/obcene phone calls...they could tell me what city it was in, but that was all. Too many payphones are privately owned nowdays, and are assigned numbers, but their locations may not be static, or pre-assigned.

d@mn, thanks for the info. i am pretty sure i know who it is but need a good general area before i attempt to call the police on them

I had a friend back in high school who was a bit of a phone phreaker, and among other things he figured out which numbers in our local area were likely to be pay phones, and by making enough random calls, managed to map out a rough number to location reference. This was, however, back in the mid 1980s, so things might well be different now, as I don't think so many phones were privately owned back then.

I don't think I've ever met a bigger nerd in my life.

Phone phreaks were definitely nerds and geeks 😛

That worked back then, in general... but I know of quite a few payphones that are privately owned, and are part of a number bank otherwise used for corporate or internal purposes.
