Any way to log in if I'm browsing by IP?

Since the subscriber forums are down & the non-subscriber forums seem to have issues as well, & I'm browsing by IP address. Unfortunately the login doesn't seem to work. I can't read my PM's, edit my messages, I'm browsing as a non-registered user & have to enter my info every time I reply to something.

This sucks. :( Anybody know a way around this?

So do you guys get a free month because of the outage? That would be fair.

I dunno, I'm not particularly worried about it. Even if the subscriber forums were down for a full week it would be less than $1 prorated, it's hardly worth bitching over.

I'm much more concerned with the inability to communicate with anyone, I use PM's extensively.

Not that I know of.

If you try to log in, it notices you're a subscriber, and tries to forward you to the subscriber server. Even if you put the IP address of the non-sub forums as the subscriber one in your HOSTS file, it will just stay in a loop :(

You'll just have to do less neffing, NFS4 :p

is the subscriber server just slow, or non-functional? I would think they (Zuni) would have something in place to allow the subscribers to just log in to the regular server.

The subscriber forums are completely dead, ie timing out.

I don't think there is any way around it... get rid of the cookies from anandtech.com, and that should at least let you browse by going to forums.anandtech.com. As for logging in, once you log in, it'll notice that you're a subscriber, and try forwarding you to the subscriber forums. :frown:

Subscriber dead for me too. Forums dead for me too. I can only browse by IP which sucks horribly. I hope they get something in place here, since a lot of us aren't getting what we paid for.

If you can't browse by IP, try clearing your cookies (at least get rid of the cookies for Anandtech). That'll clear out any info that'll try sending forums.anandtech.com to subscriber.anandtech.com. It did the trick for me... now just to hope that they can get the subscriber server up and running again sometime soon...

Seems like they could at least take off the redirect to the subscriber server or whatever it is.

What do you guys mean borwse by IP? I can just go to forums.anandtech.com and view the forums. As long as I dont login it works fine.

The problem started sometime yesterday with the servers being slow and then the subscriber server went down sometime late last night.
