Any way to keep my ipod from going to "do not disconnect" in XP?

I bring my ipod to work to listen to music and not waste the bandwidth with streaming. I use the usb cord to charge about half way through the day. Everytime I plug in the ipod I get the "Do not disconnect" message on the ipod. Is there anywhere in XP or iTunes that I can tell the ipod to just charge and not connect in iTunes. Each time I have to fire up iTunes (which I don't use other than to disconnect my ipod) and it takes forever.

I wasn't sure where to put this thread so if it needs moving please do so.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to not have iTunes come up if you plug in an ipod. You could get a wall adapter for your ipod, that way you can charge it without using the computer.
