Any way to have the charms bar battery icon display actual %'s and minutes of power?

Not as useful on a typical PC desktop but I would find it more easier on a mobile laptop and/or tablet PC where a quick swipe or a mouse slide to a corner lets you know your estimated use time. Any suggestions?

Windows 8 by default has the notification of the time left if one clicks on the icon on the taskbar.

While I did re-enable gadgets, it still is not the best solution of having that information with a swipe on the charms bar from the right. Either the gadgets are hidden behind windows, eats screen real estate, or is still eating screen real estate but is transparent and still can get in the way.

I know most of Anandtech tends to hate the Windows 8 changes, but the charms bar is a welcome addition in my opinon and should be a proper replacement to gadgets. Either a mouse over to either right corners or a swipe reveals information that can easily be hidden away, especially useful with display sizes that aren't big.

Any other options or am I left waiting?
