I have a computer with 2 small drives, each with 2~3 partitions. I'd like to copy everything over (keeping the partitions) to a bigger drive, but couldnt find how to do it in Ghost.

As far as i know, I can only make a image from one disk at a time?

well you can try to copy the partitions to the bigger drive and then use Partition magic 5.0 to merge them into 1 partition. Make sure your using the same FAT or NTFS. I don't think you can merge a FAT16 and FAT32 partition together.

You are correct, there is no way to do this in ghost. Like BeHeMOTH said, you could use Partition Magic to do this...

can't you set up the new drive into the total number of partitions in those 2 drives, and do partition to partition?

actually, Mday your idea sounds good!
i guess i hestitated to do so because i do have a mixture of different formats on these drives, and dual boot win98/nt. so didnt want to mess it up..

but i suppose copying partition to partition unto the new drive would not do anything to the 2 old small drives.. so i guess i always have a safe net to fall back on..

as far as partition magic.. i dont have that software and dont really feel like buying it.. so.. that's out of my reach. =)

thanks guys for your suggestions!!

A while back a friend upgraded 2 4.3GB drives to one 20GB drive... I used fdisk to first partition the 20GB drive to 2 partitions of 10GB each and then I did a partition to partition copy with Ghost from the old to the new. The 20gb drive has worked perfectly since the last 2 months.
