Any way to get USB 2.0 working properly on Dimension 4550 under Windows 2000 ?

I have a Dell Dimension 4550 (new Intel 845PE motherboard chipset). It
came with WinXP installed, but since I run Win2K on all my other computers,
I want to "down"grade to Win2K. OK, so I installed Win2k on the machine
and got everything up and running EXCEPT for the USB ports. They
are working at USB 1.1, but not USB 2.0. Also, there is one
"Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" question mark in the device
manager (all the other USB devices have drivers attached to them).

I downladed the USB2.0 driver from the Intel website, and I also downloaded
the infinst_enu chipset driver file for the 845PESV chipset. Installed
both of these, but without any success.

I checked, and the USB is indeed running at 1.1 speed, not 2.0.

Anyone? The Dell website and supplied driver disks are no help. This
kind of sucks, I think...Typical of my experience with Dell, but still
sucks...

Anyone?

Yeah, I checked. Basically, they provide no drivers for Win2K.

This motherboard for this machine is based on the Intel 845PE chipset,
athough I don't know if it's an Intel OEM part.

if you right click on the problem USB in devman and choose update drive and then allow it to seach windows update it should find it. Aditionally, if you install SP3 and allow it to update from the HDD it wil find it and install the generic microsoft USB drivers which support 2.0

Subscriber only thread linked above :( Can someone tell me what the trick is here? I can't get 2.0 active on my 4550/Win2k machine.
