Any way to get the asus a7v8x to support DDR400 in 2 slots?

Heres the deal:

I was kind of in a rush, when ordering my parts and wasn't really thinking to clearly, so what I ended up with were 2 sticks of pc3500 rev 2 made by OCZ :( The only reason I did this is because I really needed to save the money. Well I'm running them at DDR400 spec just fine right now on this azza board, that apparently supports DDR400 in more than one memory slot no problem. But when I had them in my A7V8x, i would set it to DDR400, and it would post and show in windows that it was only running at DDR266, or DDR333, or even DDR200, I don't remember :) Anyways, is there a bios update or something that would allow me to run these 2 memory modules at DDR400 on my A7V8X, or am I gonna have to trade them for a 512 stick, or just deal with DDR333+ whatever I O/C to?? I've been looking around asus's site for a while with really no information on the subject, so I thought I'd post here. Thanks guys.

Well this alos blows... it looks as though these are only DDR 400 chips (pc3200) when I am almost positive I ordered pc3500... grrrhh!! :|

Well yeah, but the the A7V8X only supports DDR400 in one slot :( I have (2) 256meg pc3500 sticks, so when I set it at DDR400 (or anything higher I would imagine) it bumps it way down, DDR333 at the very best.

The problem isn't with the ram, its with the motherboard supporting the ram's speed in 2 memory slots.

i think you answer your own question.

its a HW limitation, so u either new a new mb or just forget about ddr400. assuming asus doesnt release some sort of magical bios

:) Yeah well in a sense I did, but that just doesn't make too much sense to me. Why would it only be supported in one slot, is that slot better than the others or what? ;)
