Any way to get tabbed windows in Win7?

I can't imagine I am the first person to want this by a freaking long shot so I'm tossing it out there wondering if someone more enterprising than me has come up with a solution or if anything has been announced for windows 8.

Just like all browsers now have tabbed browsing so that you don't have to open a new window, is there an equivalent for Window's explorer? Say I have my steam folder open and I want to open my documents, I have to have two separate windows for both applications and in order to switch back and forth using only the mouse I have to click between the two on the start bar which can become an enormous pain in the ass when you're juggling a couple windows. Tabbing would make life so easy, by having everything within one window.

Anyone?

This is a very good tab browser, http://www.explorerplusplus.com/

Both are free and have portable version. Thus you can keep them in their own directories of your choice, and they do not intervene with the system or the registry.
