Any way to get rid of GAIN?

Hey. You know GAIN, that annoying program that installs itself with other programs and will not uninstall without uninstalling the good program? How do you get rid of that?

I've gotten so sick of it I'm considering just deleting the exe and seeing what happens, though I know that will just cause errors. I already denied it access through my firewall, but it still manages to annoy me. Anyone have a trick? Thanks.

Ad-Aware will stop it from running and remove all of it's registry keys, but it doesn't delete the executables. GAIN modified their new version specifically to circumvent Ad-Aware, and they partially succeded.

So you should run Ad-Aware with the latest definitions, then locate and kill the damn executable.

Also, if you have some sort of personal firewall like ZoneAlarm, it'll cut it off at the balls from trying to access the internet.

🙂

you have to wonder about the type of person who would run a company that tries to force itself onto computers. and not like ms monopoly stuff either, like the user wants to remove your gd program and you write code to prevent this from happening!
