any way to get refurbished directv gear?

I need a new directv receiver and don't really want to spend another $100. These things seem disposable to me, does anyone know how to get a refurb?

Yes, I googled but didn't find any significant deals.

I am in the same boat. I am actually looking at add another receiver and can't get a deal for the life of me.

All new model receivers are leased. So you aren't going to find any receivers refurbished.

Any ways to convince directv to upgrade me for as little as possible? I just got directv 2 months ago and spend $80 on the SD receiver, gave that tv to my parents and upgraded to an HDTV set and, basically.. ugh. it just feels like a waste of money.
