I'll try and abridge this as much as possible.
- I registered a domain for my company under namecheap.com.
- Company was in the process of getting sold and I was asked to transfer the domain to buying company
- Transferred the domain over to the buyers registrar - network solutions
- Sale never did go through and now they still have control of the domain
- Tried to request a transfer back to namecheap through namecheap but can't because there's a lock on the domain
- Sent multiple emails to current admin/contact for the domain to release it and all requests go ignored
I've got a bunch of employees and operations staff asking when that domain will be back in service. But, if that other company won't release it, I don't know what I can do. Has anyone ever appealed to Network Solutions successfully in cases like this? The company that controlls the domain right now has no possible gain from it. We are in no way a competitor or even in a remotely similar concept as them. It does them no good to hold on to it.
