Any way to flash my CDRW to a higher speed?

Well, some people have flashed their CDRW drives to the next model up. I have a 'rebagged' Lite-on 40x12x48 which I would like to see if I can flash and bump up the speeds. Anyone tried this before or know how I can go about doing it?

why bother, unless you have 52 media, it's not gonna work right all the time. And is bumping to 48x and the 12 seconds less it will take to make a cd worth you toasting your drive??
