any way to fix a stuck CPU temp sensor

this is a dual core Intel C2Duo cpu

temp readings are done with various programs such as core temp, speedfan and real temp.

one of the core's sensors are stuck at 37C, if i run stress tests on the CPU, both cores will go up linearly, but when it comes back down to room temp, that core stops and stays at 37c while the other goes down to and stays at 26/27C and fluctuates according to room temp.

is there any way to fix this?

Does this really bother you? Not being able to see correct (but meaningless) idle temps?

Like Larry said, idle temps mean nothing...on a quad they don't work to start with. All that really matters is that the load temps are within specs....

Now if the sensors didn't work at all, well that would be another thing.....

well... if you bought something, would you guys rather it work fully? or work partially?

fyi, load temps are within spec but still..

would you guys like a few dead pixels on your LCD of 1680x1050 pixels?

Not the same thing.

But if it really bother you, talk to Intel about an RMA...of course you've already voided the warranty i'm sure...;)

If I remember correct, Intel's CPU temp sensors don't work when they go below a certain temperature. I myself am a perfect example. Whether I'm running stock voltages or at my OCed setting, my idle temps never goes below 30C, whether my basement is cold or I just turned my rig on or if the heat is running. Only the load temp changes according to the CPU setting and the voltage and ambient temperatures.
