Any way to find reviews of specific eBay items?

The #1 problem that I have with eBay is that there's no built-in way to find reviews for a specific *item*.

Obviously Amazon is awesome because you have tons of reviews for a specific item. The only risk that you have is buying a counterfeit item from one of the sellers that's listed as selling that item. The easy solution is simply to buy from an official seller, such as Amazon, and you should be receiving a genuine product.

I'm in Australia.

It's very expensive to buy things from Amazon. The cheapest place is by far eBay. A lot of the items get sent directly from Asia.

The problem obviously is that there are no reviews for the specific item that I want to buy! For example, batteries are a huge risk. Depending on the product, they can advertise a much larger capacity than it actually has. There's no way on eBay to verify a certain product's mAh, while on Amazon there are lots of people saying if it's legit or not.

I don't know what your question is. Do you want some magical feature that ebay has intentionally excluded, or do you want us to approve of you looking on amazon for the same item and reading the reviews?

On ebay, if the seller doesn't include the relevant reviews option in the listing, your only option is to manually read the seller's feeback and compare the product name to what you're buying. If you can't find an item on amazon, most Chinese stuff is on aliexpress.com. The reviews there can be somewhat helpful, but normally they're a combination of both the seller's quality and the item's quality. Protip: if the ebay item ships from China, it's probably whatever cheap knockoff is on aliexpress. This doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. There are several reputable Chinese battery brands like Soshine and BTY.

Other than that, just google it or try youtube.

You contact the buyer directly??? If there are no reviews, then your only choice is to contact the buyer and ask him/her. That's what you meant right?

Google the battery or type in the battery name on the official site that produces the battery and compare the prices. If it's 90% cheaper then I can happily confirm they are fake.

I'm talking poop right now, hope I helped 😀

hehe we posted at the same time D:

Google the fucking model number or input in Amazon or Newegg? That's what I do. And ebay does have some ratings for shit.

You can try doing a feedback search, if it's something they have been selling for a while. Far from a perfect solution, but it will enable you to view seller feedback using keywords, so you should be able to see if they have gotten any complaints in transactions involving the item you are looking to buy.

As for Amazon.com reviews, they work well as long as you avoid marketplace sellers. Specifically with the batteries example you gave, you will almost always find negative reviews about getting expired or dead batteries, but the reviewers almost never say who they bought them from.
