Any way to "enable" dual channel mode of DFI Infinity Ultra?

I have 2 x 512 DDR400's, but cpuid still says single channel. Both have 2.5-3-3-7 timings, but one is OCZ and the other is Kingston (although I was told it was OCZ when I bought it...but thats another issue). Is there a way to "turn on" dual channel on this board, or will it do it automatically when it detects "identical memory"?

Move one of the modules to the vacant slot, and that should do the trick It's a matter of which slots the modules are in. Your manual should cover this if you want to check on that. Many boards' POST screens will tell you, too.

thanks....I'm a fool. I was adding the memory while the pc was still under the desk w/o a light...thought I put in both the blue slots (vs. the single black one)....all is well now.

Yep for dual channel mode on this board stick them in both the blue slots,it will automatically then be in dual channel mode,says so on screen at post if you look quick enough .
