New laptop w/ windows 7 home edition 64 bit.

It will not work with a piece of software that I have to have for my job.

windows 7 w/ 32 bits will work fine.

Anyway that I can do a swap legally?

Thanks for thoughts.

Get your hands on a 32-bit install disc and use the product key on the sticker attached to the laptop. The product keys are not specific to 32-bit or 64-bit, only the edition (e.g. Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate).

There are multiple ways to go about this:

1. If you have the OEM edition, contact your computer vendor for a 32-bit install DVD. If you have the retail edition, contact Microsoft. If you have the :sneaky: edition, find a 32-bit install DVD somewhere.

2. Use virtualization software such as VMware Player to install the 32-bit edition of Windows.

3. Try to get your software to work with 64-bit Windows.
