Any way to delete an uninstalled iOS 7 update package?

Apple pushed the iOS 7.0.2 update package to my iPhone 4S. I didn't ask my phone to download the package. I have not installed it. My phone is still running iOS 6.1.3 at this time. But the install package is sitting there taking up a lot of valuable space. Is there any way to delete this package that doesn't involve rooting or flashing or smashing the phone? It belongs to my employer so I have to be nice to it.

TIA

Does it show up in Settings > General > Usage? On iOS 7, i have a whole list of things, not sure if an update would show up there or not.

TheStu, no but it's downloaded and ready to install. I've found many places where others are b*tching about this but no real solutions are offered.

nickbits, touche'. Exactly the problem, I can revert to a backup but it'll just download again unless I fill up the space. But that defeats the purpose of deleting the update, that space is what I want back.

I would think it would delete that file on its own if you needed the space. Have you tried filling it up to see what happens?

There are programs (used when an iPhone is connected via USB to a computer) that should allow deletion, called "Senuti" (for Mac) or other programs (such "Wondershare") for PC.
Isn't there an IOS 6 setting to "notify of update availability only, but do not download"?

I'll check out Wondershare, thanks for the tip.

To answer your question, if that setting exists the iOS 7 update was not constrained by it. The incremental updates to iOS 6 did need me to manually download them, but not this one. I've found many other users with the same gripe as mine, just no solutions. One poster on the Apple community shared that an Apple support tech told them that the iOS 7 update was pushed and that it was Apple's express intent to bypass the users' wishes. This, in my opinion, is most likely an effort to force nearly 100% adoption as early as possible. I'd love to update but my employer has said "NO".

There was some talk that it might only update if you sync your computer to iTunes. But since you do icloud that's obviously not the case.

You could reset and then restore, but block the apple update server at the router level. I'd also inagine your IT Dept couldn't be that far away from giving the on to update.

I could block the update server on my home router but I have no admin rights to the corporate router here at work. The only way I could keep the update off my phone would be to restore it and then fill the device with enough music/videos/pictures that the update wouldn't fit. But that would defeat the purpose of deleting the update.

Hopefully you are right in that IT will allow the update soon, but all indications are that they feel the update doesn't offer enough to merit the potential support issues that will ensue (exchange/battery life was mentioned to me by our dept. level IT guy) and we may be required to bypass this update for good.
