any way to DEFINITIVELY get rid of "my web search"?

personally, ive never had this on MY computer, but im at home for holidays right now and no matter how many times i uninstall it and run a slew of anti spyware programs, its always back on my bros and moms comp within a week... they swear they dont click 'yes' to install anything but its ALWAYS there when i check.... so frustrating...

are tehre any measures to prevent it from ever showing up?

First -- are you absolutely sure it's clean and gone??? If it's not, it'll come back every time!

Second -- if your computer is clean, then download/install/update SpywareBlaster -- It'll keep it clean. It's like an AV and needs regular updating, too, but that can be automated.

a sledgehammer annd thermite will do it.
If you don't want to go that route,then may I suggest using Hijackthis and posting the logs either here or on their forum. Otherwise ....Maybe disbale sys. resotere run the cleaners and see what happens.

I believe I got rid of it on a friends computer using cwshredder. I could be wrong.....
