So my doc proscribed me some Voltaren (an anti-infamilatory) for my sprained wrist(try changing 8 tires with only a L wrench. No air-impact wrench here) Anyways these pills are making me freaking loopy/tired and coffee isn't helping. What can I do?

I wanted to put the new tires on my old nissan onto my new Nissan(but are altima's both take the same rim and tire size).

The tires on the old car are only a year old. The "new" car tire status is questionalbe at best + the tread isn't as good(lacking is a better word).

Although Voltaren, a non-steroidal antiinflamatory, should not cause drowsiness sometimes it does. Hopefully the effect will subside. If you notice a particular time that you feel drowsy you may change the time you take it to adjust. Caffiene to a limit may help but there is no recommended way to counter this affect.

BTW if you don't know. Sudafed is now a restricted substance because it is used to make Meth. That is why you can only buy 1 box at a time and you must give photo ID, sign a form and give a DNA sample in order to be able to get relief from some nasal congestion. :|

Roll with it. Go home and take a shot of nyquil call up some buddy's and watch a crazy movie. It's not every day you get to legally be loopy.

You know you could have used your feet for the extra pressure, right? You don't need an air impact wrench.

In general, it's better to use an alternative medication if the side effects are undesirable.

In the case of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, there is plenty of choice. You could ask your doc for an alternative medication, but the chances are they are only available on prescription.

Advil (ibuprofen) is a different, slightly less powerful anti-inflammatory. You could use that instead during the day, and save the voltarol for the evening. (Note that the 2 drugs do the same thing - don't take the 2 of the so that they overlap because that would be like overdosing on one of them).
