Any way to copy Steam updates?

Im about to reinstall WinXP on our new Raptor and would like to just copy all the Steam updates onto a CD to install later. Is this possible? and if so, how? We're stuck on dial-up here, Broadband is N/A and even though were running Shotgunned modems, our avg. download speed is only Approx. 10 Kbps. TIA for any and all help.
