Any way to completely migrate installed programs on Vista to Windows 7?

I have a friend who has a system running Vista.

He wants to do a clean install of Windows 7.

But he wants to keep his existing programs and program settings. They are fairly complex programs and doing a clean install and re-configuring of the *programs* would be horrible.

Is there any way to do a clean install of Windows 7 and then migrate over some of his installed programs from Vista?

Windows Easy Transfer can transfer program settings. You still need to reinstall the programs.

Not sure how well it does, so I recommend you image new win7 installation first.

Your best bet is to Google each program with migrate to a new PC. This will generally yield the best information as not every program can be moved successfully with 1 thing.
