Hi there,

recently i managed to recover most of my files from the broken HDD with the help of app called EaseUs Partition/Data Recovery. Unfortunately, as the MFT of the disk was the broken part, the data did not came in the original folder structure, although there were lot of original folders intact. Almost 300GB of files were recovered as RAW though.

As i tried to restructuralise whole mess into the folder structure as similar to original one as it gets, i found few corrupted jpegs (part of image was black or grey noise) and completely broken MP4 videos. Now my question is, as i obviously did not check every single recovered AVI, MP3 or JPEG, is there any application which will check these files for their integrity? I mean i do not have to manually watch every single recovered movie/listen to every MP3 to find out there is corrupted/missing part, although the file seems ok and has correct size...or is it impossible?

There are integrity checkers out there, but to my knowledge they are more to check thigs like a MD5 Hash and checksum and ect as far as verifying if your media files work im afraid you might have to open and go through your files. So grab some coffee or your favorite energy drink.

As I recall, if the checksum does not match, the file is corrupt. If any part of the video is missing, the checksum will not add up. Bottom line, if you can open the file and it plays, odds are it is OK. You should not need to watch the entire video.
