Any way to check a CD for physical defects (audio) without listening to the entire thing for skipping?

I just burned a CD and noticed that the sharpie I wrote on it with can be seen through the other side. It's the first time I've noticed that before, and want to make sure the CD works...any ideas?

I have of bunch of CD's like that. Some don't have any label at all on the other side and I can actually see all the way through them if I hold them up to the light.

If you really want to test it, you could try ripping it to an mp3 or wav.

It'll be fine... most all of my cd's are that way...

it should be fine ...

the only thing i do to make sure CDs are ok is just a visual check for scratches
