Any way to block anonymous calls on AT&T wireless?

I have a rather belligerent and uninformed bill collector that refuses to stop calling me (outside of authorized hours no less) on my cell phone despite being told they have the wrong number. I did notice they're calling using anonymous caller ID (cause they're outsourced from India no less), but unfortunately I can't figure out how to block "Unknown" callers, which I want to do anyhow.

That is annoying. That is one reason I always keep my cell OFF unless I want to make a call. That way, all incoming calls are relegated to voice mail, and easily deleted.

I'm not sure if they still do it, but you used to be able to call customer service and add that service to your plan. I did it once, but it was a couple of years ago. But you should give it a shot. I put in my voice mail that I do not answer or return Unknown caller IDs.

Does he leave belligerent messages?

If not, just don't pick up.

If so, get your cell company police department involved, back trace, and fuck the guy over of his job.

"He" = an outsourced India call center. I've received several calls from them, from different "agents". It's not the same person, but is the same company. Unfortunately by showing as "Unknown", I risk missing other calls that may be important.

He doesn't leave belligerent messages, but rather is belligerent on the phone (bill collector, single minded tunnel vision that will simply accept nothing other than you saying you're the party they're looking for and you're willing to pay, even if you're not [either]).

Getting the police department involved will likely net nothing, given that this is a call center in India.

Here's another trick I have learned to do. The phone rings - caller ID says UNKNOWN, etc., . . . I quickly click TALK and then immediately END. I.e., pick up and hang up w/o a word. It sorta gets to be a game. Also, I only give my cell number to those FEW people I want to hear from. :)

Some phones have the ability to select to not ring if it is an anon call. If it is an iPhone then probably not unless you jailbreak (unless they changed that with 4.0 iOS). You can however, set up YouMail as your voicemail system which does give the option to dump anon direct to voice mail. Can even select specific voicemail messages for anon (or specific people). Problem is that you can only check voicemail from web or the YouMail app.
