Any way to automate re-connecting to wwan

I have a laptop in a remote location that I need to access. I am using verizon with a LG VL600 usb modem. Problem is despite a strong signal the connection drops randomly (sometimes after 15+ hours, sometimes less) and unless I can get in touch with someone nearby to go to the laptop and click the connect to wwan button in vzaccess, i am sol. If I could automate reconnecting when the connection drops I would be laughing...

will the program automatically connect just if its launched/re-launched? a windows task scheduler event could handle killing/restarting it

or perhaps does the connection require a keepalive of some sort, and the connection is just dropping after a while because its idle?
