Any way out of a lease?

Been trying for a while to get the ppl upstairs to put a leash on their 2 year old. I know it's impossible, but having him run and scream
and jump up and down isn't being considerate to others in the same building. Now, I jsut found out the guy has three kids from
a previous marriage. It sounded like wrestlemania the other day.

I left a message a while back, and the property manager told me if that doesn't work, to tell him. Well, the ppl upstairs seem to be cool
and everything. They tell me they understand, yet the kid is still at it. What they do is leave the 2 year old with the kids across from their
apt. Those kids come over and do what they do. The adults go to the other apt to chill. So, the kids are running and jumping and the parents are in the other apt not knowing they are creating havoc.

I'm thinking about getting out of the lease, but I see no way out of it.

Explain to the parents what's going on... if they still won't fix it.. I think you should be able to get out or they get kicked out. Usually the one causing the neighbors to complain will get kicked. My friend plays music everyday... warned 3 times at least now.. office told them they'll get booted.. if it doesn't stop.

I went through this same damn thing. The best thing you can do is complain to the complex EVERY time you have issues with your neighbor.

The family above us had two kids that were 2 and 5 years old. They CONSTANTLY ran up and down the hallway, screamed, and just basically made noise from 7AM until 8-10PM every day.

Within 2 days of living there, I confronted my neighbor. Come to find out, he was the maintainence supervisor of the complex. I told him that I understood that kids make noise, but that we hear EVERY THING they do and if maybe he could get them to settle down after 5PM when my wife and I got home from work. He said that he would. That lasted all of about 24 hours.

I confronted my neighbor about it AGAIN with 48 hours of the first time I had talked to him about it and told him I didn't want to tell the complex but that I would. He brought the kids to the door and explained to them, in front of me, that they needed to be quiet in the afternoons. Again, it didn't make any difference whatsoever. I was at the apartment complex complaining the next day. They were actually somewhat sympathetic and asked if we wanted to move into a different apartment. After moving and getting everything installed and situated, this was really not an option for us.

After all of that, I started just blaring my music around 11PM or Midnight every night. I would occasionally get a pound on the floor, which would lead me to increase the volume. He never confronted me about it.

After about five months of this "dance", they finally moved out.

Also, this is why A.) We bought a house and B.) I will NEVER live on the ground floor of an apartment building ever again.

The thing is the guy upstairs knows his kid(s) are problems, but it's gotten to the point where it's not going to matter.
I would tell him and then either he forgets or he's too busy doing other things and forgets about the kids. This is the first
weekend where he has his other three kids over. The little one is ok during the week. Fiance tells me to just let it go, but
i dont think it's fair to us that we have to hear this. I am sure anyone else would feel the way i do!

Somebody we know has had major noise problems from idiots late at night. His apartment complex has time and time again tried to get these people to be quiet (they congrogate in front of the apartment building; they are tenants), and basically told him that they have no control over it, so if he wants to break the least he can do so.

I would keep complaining, and see if the complex would let you move into another appartment. Usually complex's have provisions for breaking a lease, but typically charge the equivalent of 4 months rent.
