I once bought a few figures and got a little in, but had trouble finding players.

Now a kid near me just brought up his entire Ork army, and i got the serious itch to play again.

I also spent a good 6 hours painting one figure, and it turned out really sweet, which doesnt help the itch either!

I used to, but then I realized 4 things:

Expensive!

Geeky!

Players are way too uptight and serious!

Painting figures is too time consuming!

I've never played but I always wanted to but it seemed like a very expensive hobby. Checkout Games Workshop and see if they have a store near you. They usually allow customers in on one night during the week to play in store.

If I had the money, I would play it. I have a about a 1000 point Imperial Guard army, so enough for a small battle. But it is unapainted (too much time to paint them, plus paint is expensive).

At some point I really wish to get back into playing. I loved playing this game and fully intend to do so again. Greatest board game ever.

I loved this game. The only problem was, I use to work in the only store in town that sold it. Now that I've moved to a bigger town, they've added a whole bunch of stuff, and I'd have to start over...

It all adds up.:)

I used to play Warhammer Fantasy but I too found it really expensive to keep up with. That and the fact that a lot of the time either myself or the people I played with wouldn't have time to finish a complete game and it would sit there for weeks or even months unfinished. Still have my huge undead army sitting around in a box somewhere though, along with a small collection of skaven and dark elves.
