I have the T720 with verizon, and it's ok I guess...I haven't had any problems over the last few months. Reception isn't as good as my Motorola Timeport (P8767) used to be, and the battery life sucks.

My sister has the LG VX1 with verzion (ugh, she paid $200 for that when it first came out, what a loser)..anyway, can't say much about that as I don't use it much but I haven't heard her complain.

My uncle just got the LG color phone (don't remember model #), dunno how that is...this guy came up to me and was like "i got a better phone than you" (this guy is a 40 year old who works retail and he constantly tries to compare himself to a college student...how retarded).

anyway, that's about it i guess..i'd stay away from the T720 only because battery life sucks.

As much as i love new technology, I've come to the realization that all the fancy color screens, java apps, etc. do nothing to add to the usability. I have a Motorola V60i, and it has everything a phone needs - great reception, durability, and battery life. That's it.

Gotta agree there...color screens are basically useless. Only reason I got the T720 was because it was time for an upgrade and I got it for $50 after rebate...I think it still goes for the same price, right?

lg vx4400 all the way! check out Howardforums.com
for all the information.

Samsung is releasing the a536 soon and that should give the LG VX4400 a run for its money.

Once my contract with nextel is over in a few weeks, I'm going to sign up with verizon

I got the T720 for free after MIR (trade in)
Basically I hated battery life until about a month ago when I went and upgraded the firmware to v 22, I believe. The battery life went up significantly, probably doubled. I can go without recharge for days, when before I had to do it every night.
I was amazed that firmware could do that, but it can.

vx4400. love it. any questions, feel free to ask. and they are constantly updating it and doing things with the phone. also, i used to own a lg 510 and lg vx10 and all of the phones performed flawlessly for me. theres my vote. only problem is it has kiddy rings, but you can upload new ringers to your phone

vtw, verizons t720 is buggy and unreliable. check out verizons newgroups and howardforums and wirelessadvisor.com/. it has well-known problems

I have the Samsung A310.

I wanted a flip phone, and fairly up to date w/o breaking the bank. It doesn't have color, but I really didn't care as the resolution on color phones is quite ugly while the display looks very clean on the A310 with the blue backlight.

I dropped the poor guy tons of times but hes still working like a champ, other than the cosmetic scratches. My only problem is the lack of a normal ring tone, but I usually keep it on vibrate anyways. I'm not into downloading stuff, sending text messages, playing games, etc etc.

Anyone who's complaining about the T720's battery life and bugs are probably too stupid to get their lazy asses to their local Verizon shop to have their firmware and software upgraded for free to the latest versions. They'd rather sit at home and bitch about it online instead of solving their problem. I have the T720, and I love it. No problems whatsoever. Battery life is as good as my old Startac ST7868. I also bought the extended life battery since my company has a deal with Verizon where I get 21% off my bill every month, and 25% off accessories. They just had a special, 50% off all batteries, so I picked up the extended for $30.00.

VX4400 and I love it. There is a large following and it frequently sells out in certain markets because of it's popularity. It also has good battery life, fast menu speeds and great reception.

Kyocera 7135
Converged device and is a "phone first" unlike the Treo and the other device made by Samsung. I wish it had PPC though.

Kyocera 7135 is also $499 :p. My manager just bought it and has been showing it off but in my opinion if I am paying that much phone it better be made of gold and diamonds.

I agree with that. After the latest firmware, I have no major complains about the phone, really, aside from Verizon's get it now feature, which I hate.
But I will fault Verizon with releasing the phone with untested and buggy software when it first came out. And while they deserve credit for finally getting it right, that's not the way to release products.
Also, it's kind of hard to find some settings on the phone, so make sure to use the shortcut feature to add them to bookmarks.
