Im working on a project for a class Im taking and I need to know the going rate for a VB programmer. The work would be doing scripts and such for a DB and such.

There's no "going rate", it depends on too many variables. Around here, top developers get upwards of $150/hr, whereas most on contract charge ~$50/hr.

 
Yeah there is no going rate per-se. If you have little to no industry experience you'll be lucky to actually get a job right now.
 
Sorry for my vagueness, but $50/hr is a common rate for freelance work. The project is a fictitious company with a fictitious problem so I don?t need an exact dollar amount. I assume that what my group has in mind will take a programmer about 8-12 hours.
