Any value in a broken Ipod classic

Have a friend who has one, took it to get repaired, she was told it was junk. Is it worth trying to sell on the FS/FT forums or just pitch it

Doubt it, i'd just recycle it. I just tried to sell a working one that was given to me and was told it was too old.

I'm sure someone out there would be interested in it, given it has a large capacity HDD.

Those may still be valued by some audiophile types, like over at Head-Fi (http://www.head-fi.org/f/6552/source-components-for-sale-trade).

Large capacity and audio output is very good on many models.

If you can figure out what problem is, you may be able to fix it yourself:
