Any use in keeping a 17" monitor?

I have come into possession of an oldish 17" monitor. It's a panasonic something or rather and still works fine, but no stores locally accept monitors, and I wonder if this is even worth trying to sell? Since "How much is this worth?" threads are a no-no, I'm more interested in opinions on whether I should bother or just use it as a projectile, launch it from a sling, and fling in into a brand new G5 which I have in the back yard and use as target practice.

Smash the tube with a hammer. This will provide you with a few seconds of fleeting joy. After that, I dunno. Yard art?

Trebuchet ammo?

Or just keep it as a backup monitor, or get a dual-head video card. Or build another PC and install Linux or something.

keep it as a backup.

I had a nice samsung 15 inch that i gave away because i bought a 17 inch Sylvania.

Now i found out the Sylvania sucks. i have had it just around 2 years and it is dieing. I really wish i would have gotten a better monitor.

If i still had my samsung i would be useing that even though it is smaller.

They're usually not worth much cash, but handy to keep around in case somebody drops by a PC for whatever reason.

It will do 1024X768, but I didn't really try much beyond that...I suppose I could keep it as a backup. My current one is great but may die any time. Another video card would be nice, but I've not a huge use for it, since I don't do work at home.

They aren't worth much but you can never find one when you want one. Unless you have no space whatso ever, keep it.

agreed... keep it if you have the space. If you got rid of it, and your other one went bad, you'd be kicking yourself. (actually, if the other one goes bad, a back-up monitor will verify it's the monitor that's gone and not something else)

Keep it, you never know. I kept an OLD 14 inch, max 800x600. Yeah it sucks. But when my 19" crapped out on me recently, this little POS saved me (looking for a 21" now as we speak)
