Any updates on the possibility for performance increases from 64-bit computing?

On a A64 system

Supposedly a 8% increase on 32-bit applications alone on a 64-bit O/S over a 32-bit one. As for 64-bit applications on a 64-bit O/S I've heard up to 30% and perhaps higher, of course it depends on what applications and circumstances.
