Early results are showing the C2 Chipset revision to be better ocers, eliminate some of the ram compatibility issues and other bugs. If you pick the right parts off the bat or not planning to be a heavy ocer, you'll probably not notice any differences.

Any links to "early results"? I'm interested to see even if its just a thread on this or another forum.

Thats sucks. I want a C2 P5B. I think the supposed 1600 strap allows in the region of 600FSB, with appalling mem timings.

Its a tradeoff to a certain degree, expect the bios to be tuned a little more before release the week after.

In the meantime - P5B-E

Yeah these P5B-E boards do have the new C2 chips in. Debating whether to try it out. No point hit and missing on another P5B D. I can't see it anywhere in the UK, any idea's on it's MSRP?

And yeah you are right, a new BIOS rev will be needed to make good use of the higher bootstrap. Aka making sure that (i think) the 1600 bootstrap gets used and switches over correctly from 1333. Although people have been messing with latest BIOS 614, i'm not sure if this is sufficient for the C2 and high FSB or not, also i'm not sure whether it is a beta or not.

Looks like it is using 3 phase power, or is it four i cant tell. Thats annoying especially since the P5B-D has 8 phase. Well it doesn't look like it will be any good for kentsfield drop ins anyway.

EDIT: It looks like you can't change the Southbridge, Northbridge voltages on the P5B-E, not sure whether a new BIOS can sort this?

P5B DLX is prolly the best board for OCing whether u have conroe or allendale (E6400 , 6300)

P5B E seem really nice as a cheap board, its doing 500fsb, but those were done by people like andryang in xs(ie have connection with asus) so i would wait a little bit even after the board is out, better revision like P5W DH , older rev dont have 1.85v vmch but new does, also BIOS update is another issue, which is why u should wait a little bit for new board

also asus board vdroop like hell, so at maximum clock like E6600 at 4GHz u should reallyt watch that

i ghot badaxe cuz i want SLI, otherwise i would have gotten the P5D DLX, also badaxe is a mature board, bad axe's first bios was like 0401 , its 1378 now, had 30 some bios update since the board came out
