Any UC-Santa Cruz Students or Alumni here?

I've been accepted to UC-Santa Cruz and am considering attending next year as a Business Management Economics major. Any advice regarding UCSC, its campus life, the university as a whole, or your experience, is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not actually a student at UCSC but my gf goes there and visit her often since i go to school somewhere else. I lived in the dorms for maybe about a month and off campus apt. there also. I'm not sure how great the classes & teachers are, but as far as campus life goes, i can give you a bit of insight. first off, if your from any up and busy cities like i'm from L.A., Santa Cruz is a lot more slow paced. Isn't much to do there, unless your big on surfing, or puffing the magic dragon. Campus is pretty big, very hilly and tiring to walk across if you ever want to try it. If you don't have a car, the city bus will be your transport since your ID gets you on and off. downtown is about of the shops & restaurant's are, but after a few times you pretty much seen everything. The nearest mall in the city of capitola is also very very small. but if you like the nature, clean air and alot of norcal people, maybe its the place for you.

Thanks. I'm actually from Sacramento myself, so I think the slower paced lifestyle would be perfect. How does your GF like the campus? Does she regret choosing UCSC?

My friend went there, I think she liked it but she did end up transferring to UC Davis for reasons not related to the school.
