Any trustworthy member want to control my desktop

Usually when you can't make restore points, it's something in your start up. Run msconfig & uncheck everything in start up & reboot. See if it'll create a restore point. If it will, start putting things you need back in start up, 1 at a time & try to find the problem.

You may also want to see if there is any helpful info in event viewer. Another check that may be worth doing is windows error checking on the drive but I would do this after the above suggestions

You can trust everyone here 😛

just setup port forwarding for 3389
and then post your IP and Administrator password

I would do a team viewer session with you if you want. PM me. It's slow at work and I'll feel good about today if I fix some computer, even if it's not one in my shop.

Check in My Computer, Properties, System Restore .. you probably have it turned off in there. Or something got in your computer and turned it off. Personally, system restore is hit and miss. Sometimes, it will do what it should for you. Other times, it will say "unable to restore to xxx date" and you are still in the same boat as before you tried it.

I have seen restore feature set in a way that either you can not enable or disable it.
Turns out many infections try to manipulate your security settings so their malware survives as long as possible to do their dirty deeds.

I'm gonna have to do a clean install?

Still sounds like a 50/50 chance of fixing your pc.

The thing is many times after an infection that the left over damage would make you want to reinstall.

Always remember this: Does not matter the pc be it home or work.
Fixing it is always tied to either time or money.

Do you want to deal with the BS and repair it for 20 hours or just pay to get it fixed in a few hours.

Each person is different when going between those 2 choices.
Some are cheapskates and others are fully charged to spend what it take to get the issue over with as fast as possible.

So pick your poison.

I'm gonna have to do a clean install?

Bottom line is: Am I happy with my current install? Do I have to do a lot of work with a new install (updates, drivers, programs)? Do I want to start fresh with a new install?
So, it's basically your choice on what fits you most.
