Any trick to removing a stock haswell cooler

Building a new rig and I have to RMA the motherboard, but I can't get the damned pushpins out on the stock intel cooler. Any sage advice so I don't break this thing even further?

If I remember correctly, all you do is turn the pegs to unlock them and then pull them out. ...or they just pop out. It should come out pretty easily.

pull the board out..

u dont need to remove the stock heat sink to get the board out.

then invert the board, get a screw driver or a chopstick if ur asian, and poke the pushpins out from the bottom.

Probably melted on anyways 🙂

I've never seen push pins give a person trouble. Possibly they're melted too!
