you just have to make sure the classes you're taking are equivalent to the classes of the school you're transferring in toOriginally posted by: HardcoreRobot
to my knowledge, its very hard to get transfer credit to count towards your major
thats not specific to your school, just my impression in general
true, but most schools will not accept classes as equivalentOriginally posted by: sleepmachine

for the UC system you can transfer up to 128 (somewhere around there) lower division units to cover your GE credit as well as the lower division requirements for your major. It's the upper division classes that need to be taken at UC.Originally posted by: HardcoreRobot

maybe for courses outside of the major, but i dont see any big name school saying that some JC or CC course is equal to one of their engineering course
just for example, for my major, i could take HIS and GOV and english classes at a CC and transfer credit, but all computer science courses had to be taken in residence
when i transferred i had one of those sheets for my majors (comp eng) and was just following it for a year but then i talked to my transfer center counselor and she had me do one of these guaranteed admission contracts. basically it said that if i took certain classes and passed them with 3.0 or above, i'd be guaranteed admission to the UC school of my choice. you might want to check if your school offers something like that for your major.Originally posted by: virtualgames0
